Anyone familiar with or try Accel Super Coil Packs (140043)? Cheap enough, but don't know about gains, or if I'd need to tune for them. For now I want to keep my warranty and do simple mods like CAI, catback and some engine dress up.

There is zero reason to upgrade coilpacks in terms of performance, you will not gain any power - it'll simply be an aesthetic upgrade. LSx coilpacks are good for gobs and gobs of power with zero issues.

Thanks man. Saw a longer spark duration and 10-15% more energy and didn't know if that was worth anything or not.

I agree. A few years ago I was invited to tour "Turnkey Engine Supply" in Oceanside, CA. They are builders of some pretty wild LS engines. Colby Unger, the owner, told me, when I noticed that his engines had stock appearing coil packs, that you should not waste your time on aftermarket packs at this time. He found numerous failures with one particular brand. I will not bad mouth them because they do make a very good ignition system for non coil on plug ignitions.

well i added wires and got a before and after dyno pull and there was a 8 hp gain

On older cars coils and wires and what not make a difference! but with newer cars on the market now it is almost like snake oil. given I have wires on my SS but I do not expect to see performance gains. IMO if you can feel 5 to 15 hp from driving it you are almost the same as scamming yourself as the wire company is scamming you.

Woud consider wires, but only if I pull the engine cover and find some high quality red wires to offset all of the black and to compliment the new Roto-fab filter. :thumbsUp:

Wires aren't a bad upgrade but they didn't add HP. Not on a stock car.
