Chrysler 300 vs. Chevrolet SS vs. Cadillac CTS » AutoGuide.com News

Add it all up and the 300 is certainly a very nice car, but regrettably it’s no luxury machine, not even in John Varvatos trim. It’s premium in many ways but we have a feeling it’s a step behind that hot new Hyundai Genesis that’s about to be unleashed.

Still, we love its V8 rumble and claimed zero to 60 time of five seconds. But we’ve got to ask, is this car related to the Schutzstaffel? Did they work with neo-Nazis to come up with the name? Dressed in black this powerful sedan looks like it could be a member of Hitler’s personal bodyguard.

Clearly with the CTS you’re paying for the wreath and crest, or rather, just the crest since they’re in the process of pruning the logo’s foliage. In any event, you’re paying more and getting less, and that’s just un-American.

Their is only one group who still cry nazi, the same group who own the media and they will never put it behind them.

As for this test, if the Calais V6 was available in the US it would be the most suitable car for this comparison, Chevy SS is a miss match in this test.

True, but body style, overall size and price are comparable, which leads to the conclusion most of us had since the beginning: the SS is the best bang for your buck. The CTS V-Sport is very nice, and if it had HUD outside of the Premium trim, I'd be pretty tempted to spring for the extra 10.000 bucks. As it is, the SS package is unbeatable.

One of the dumbest comments I have ever read in a car review!

Are they implying that the SS is as good as a German made car?
.
Nearly as good or as close to a non German non premium car has the right to be.

There are many German queues because Holden benchmarked the Germans. It also helped that Holden had many Germans including having a German/long time Holden fan as head honcho for much of its V and Zeta development (Peter Hanenberger). Journalists even nickname Holden's handing characteristics "Handling-berger" as praise when Peter worked in the 70's as Holden's suspension engineer.

Holden has always prided itself on handling, especially with its V and Zeta cars. The 2000 GTS was thought to be around 10-20 seconds faster than the amazing BMW E39 M5 around the Nurburgring.
