Official word from Chevrolet on the SS production model reveal!

The 2014 Chevrolet SS will make its racing debut for the 2013 Daytona 500, but the production version of the car will get its official unveiling on February 16 in Daytona, a week before The Great American Race. According to a report by Automotive News, the reveal has been confirmed by Jim Campbell, Chevy's US vice president of performance and motorsports. With the departure of the Dodge Charger, the new Chevrolet racecar will be the only competitor to feature a V8, rear-wheel-drive layout in both street and NASCAR form.

NASCAR fans will be able to see the new fullsize performance-oriented sedan on display in the festivities leading up to the Daytona 500, but the car won't go on sale until later in the year. The Australian-built Chevy SS will be a low-volume performance model, and it will be priced above the 2014 Impala, which starts at $27,535.

I heard their might be a leak before the event, hopefully it does leak as rumored cause i can't wait to see it!
February 16 isn't too long from now. I am really excited to see how the consumer model will look like. A leak would be nice and I wouldn't be surprised if Chevy did it to create some hype before the reveal.
well the VF will be introduced on the 10th so its the same car
On the 10th we will get a pretty good idea of how it'll be like when the VF is released.

On the 16th they are likely going to go over possible pricing and packages along with the release.
Can't wait to see it too but gave up on buying one.. $ is gonna be way too high compared to a G8 GT, prob more than a GXP.
Bought a Chrager R/T instead, factory ordered, built & delivered in less that 30 days for under $25k

$25K, In Australia that would get us a Cruze with mags. You guys get cars so cheap.

Price will definitely be high, I think somewhere mentioned the chevy ss will be priced higher than what it's actually worth. But it is a limited run production vehicle so I guess it's okay.

Congrats on the RT.

Personally I'm going to wait. I have faith on the new chassis and I love my G8 so this would be a nice upgrade.
yeah was looking for a G8 for 6 months, not that many around here and when there are they want ridicules $ for them. glad chevy's bringing it back just wish it wasn't a ltd production. they should've just done away w the fwd impala and made them all rwd

Are you still interested in the Chevy SS seeing how you bought the Charger R/T?

Would be cool if you eventually do a test drive of the SS and give us your opinion on it vs. your Charger R/T.

Who knows maybe you'll want to sell your R/T after or be very happy you bought it over the 2014 SS!

Me thinks that there are a number of board members that would be interested this comparison. Me included.

Although I do think that a better match up is the SRT8, but thats just my oppinion.
