Has there been any rumors that there might be an optional or dealer installed racing stripes?

I think that an updated version of a 1970 Chevelle SS racing stripes would work great on the car. I put together this little sketch a while ago.

Or even something similar that was on the racing promo car earlier this year.

stripes on the promo car are too thick, I could go for something in between your sketch and the daytona SS. but please not on the roof.

I'm looking at both a Chevrolet heritage connection, but something to also spice up the look of the SS. To me, it's almost borderline a little too sedate.

How about stripes like this.

This is basically one of the sport packs Holden is offering. It also swaps out the Chrome surround on the upper and lower grill. The Red Hot is one of two colour options the other being Phantom black.
You can also change out the Chrome side fender vents for a black colour and a Black graphit coloured lip spoiler in place of the body colour spoiler.

If Holden are offering these options then they should be available to the Chevrolet versions too IMO.

IMO, those stripes are too narrow for such a large car. My hubby mentioned a racing stripe on the SS which surprsied me, like this one, but colors to compliment the blue of course.

I love that color! I really don't think that red is either Red Hot 2 or Some like it Hot red. I'm convinced it's some other shade for the promotion, etc.

On the other hand, you could do what I did, go to a local lettering shop, and have them make "Old Style" 1/4 in stripe, 1/4 space SS stripes. I know some like the sleeper aspect of the car but for me, I did not pay 45K for a big 4-door Malibu. I paid 45k for an SS and ALL SS's came with stripes.
