The all-new Chevrolet SS sedan will not be heading to Canada, General Motors has confirmed.

Going on sale later this year in America, Canadians won’t be able to enjoy the new 415 hp, 415 lb-ft of torque SS that’s powered by the American automaker’s 6.2-liter V8 engine.

The announcement comes as a surprise to those north of the border as the car’s predecessor, the Pontiac G8, was offered in the true north strong and free.

The SS sedan won’t be the only model that has a discrepancy between the American and Canadian markets. In Canada, Chevrolet offers the Trax and Orlando, both of which aren’t available in America. But in this case, Canada is definitely getting the short end of the stick. Americans surely aren’t sulking over not being able to buy a Trax or Orlando.

#$&*$!!! of course Canada is getting f-ed over again, we always do. Yay, we get the family commuter toasters, but not the one car that GM makes that I would actually buy (if I didn't already have a G8, that is :) ).

Of course, Canadians are typically a thrifty bunch, so I doubt they'd sell many up here anyway (few G8s sold up here), but it's just the concept: same dealer network, how hard can it be to get the car certified for Canadian crash/emissions standards and put on trucks up here, even if only ordered by special request?

Hopefully there will be ways of getting them across the border, at least. I've seen a few Canadian-registered GTOs (which we also didn't get), so there is still hope.

I wonder if cops in Canada are getting the Caprice PPV, if they are, buying a used Caprice PPV might be the closest Canadians get to getting a Chevrolet SS performance sedan.
I've heard we're not getting the PPV, either.

I still have some hope the SS will make it here in the 2nd year if it lasts that long. after all we olny got the G8 as a 2009 model and U.S had it as a 2008, 2009,2009.5 with added blue tooth.
if notI will at least look in to importing one as G8s near me are few and far with low mile and a realistic price. high $20k with 80-1110Km.
