First credible source i've seen.

Now we're fukin talkin doe.

"we'd love to see GM go even more extreme with the SS: Shave the weight and give it the 427 V8, six-piston Brembo carbon-ceramic stoppers, the incredible DSSV shocks, the ultra-sticky Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R rubber from the Camaro Z/28. Name it after some batty old COPO code, drop it at SEMA 2014, then wait for the howling masses to beg for a production version.

Chevy SS with a Flowtie? Yeah, we could get behind that."

BET!

If they made this car have the same expensive material underpinnings as the Alpha then it would be one light hombre. Even at this more affordable state, using high strength steel instead of aluminum and the like, its one of the lightest full sized RWD sedans out on the market and on par with the Alpha CTS.

As for having 427 and all the proper racing bits, then just call it HRT 427 Gen-F or Chevy SS 427. Its not the first time that the public can get a proper race car for the road from Holden. The last one they did would have decimated most exotic supercars in its day, a Gen-F based one can also, maybe even give the Z/28 a hiding as well.

HRT427 - stillborn but they were sold to the public, although maybe only 1 or 2 were available.

Motor Trend was accurate. Road and Track will be making a correction to their article. 2015, not 2016

During one of the 12 hour races at Bathurst a comment was the hrt427 was getting better gas mileage at racing speed than the LS3 HSV cars, it had something to do with the 427 not having to push so hard.
