I currently have 200 miles on my SS and
I'm noticing the brakes scream/squeal when slowly
backing up. I'm not sure which wheel it's
Coming from but, it only happens when backing
Up..... does anyone else have this issue?

Did you bed them in gently like Brembo said?

Cold or hot?

First use after sitting overnight or after driving a while?

First couple times after sitting in damp/rain with a tad of rusting on rotors?

Specifics will be of great help in diagnosing.

No hard braking on my part but, car did have 28 miles on it at purchase so, previous test drives could've been rough??? I only noticed the noise after returning home from short trips of 5 - 10 miles. I always back into my garage. Dry, cold Weather no rain( I haven't driven it in the rain yet) and I haven't seen any rust.

Dust? They make a lot, I have noticed some dust noise at times nothing crazy though.

I just read the "Bedding" in procedure.
I'll try that and see if the squeal goes away...
Thanks.
The one I posted from Brembo which is for the first 200 miles is the correct one. Gentle stops etc. just as stated in the manual.

There have been other posts here for bedding doing the hard repetitive stop thing and that is NOT for our Brembo system/pads. It is for higher performance/racing applications not ours!

Glad someone started post on brakes...I've taken mine to dealer to inform them my brakes too squeal when in traffic...I've got 2000 miles and did the proper "bedding" and driving normal braking for first 100 to 200 miles...I've been told to continue driving until a service notice is posted or rec from GM...Also noted alot of brake dust from these pads...(Note: Maybe Customer Care can supply this info to GM Engineers so the dealers will know how to handle when we all begin taking our rides in for this issue!)...

Yes lots a dust but no less than other brimbos I have seen. My coworkers range rover is terrible.

The sound isn't really bad to me though, I do wash the car weekly, and I have 1800 miles.

Like many of you will continue to drive the car as intended...I also wash car weekly so the brake dust doesn't bother me at all...Still a great car just very curious why the brakes squealing with low miles...Maybe the material used is a question...

It's common with the stock pads and Brembos especially with light pressure. Nothing to worry about, just annoying.
Sounds good...Thanks as that's prob why dealer sent me on my way!

Anybody getting a feel yet on how the pad wear is under normal use is?
Love the stopping power of the Brembo brakes...Feel great under normal braking and/or even light to light stops...
