Well we actually have one sitting in our garage. Mystic Green with the sun roof.
Pat O'Brian Chevy in Vermillion, Oh got the first one delivered to northern Ohio yesterday and we bought it today! Traded in Momma's G8 and fortunately I get the GM Suppliers Discount! (Every little bit helps.)
First thing I plan to do is replace the tires. HiPo summer only tires don't work very well here in northern Ohio. Probably gonna get a set General G-Max tires. Very good all season that don't break the bank. I had them on the G8.

Here are some really bad pics Momma took with her phone. You can see our G8 next to the SS.

Nice - looks exactly like my next door neighbor's SSV Redline except he has the big rear wing (and a lion on the grille :D)

Looks exactly like this:

Be nice to your car with that snow - Aussie cars don't know what the white stuff is ...

the bad news is here in victoria you can't drive into the alpine area during winter without carrying tyre chains (vic law), and the worse news, commodores do not have enough clearance to fit chains on any tyre except the 16' omega/evoke tyre, the calais & ss are too wide.

last time i went we "all" stood around watching some poor bugger wheelspinning his FWD mit magna after copying everyone else chain their rear wheels.

I used to live in Bright, and worked in a ski hire in winter. The worst sound in the world was the 'clunk clunk clunk' of some first timer who had driven the 25km from the snowline on bitumen without taking the chains off...

I did not know about that law for the Alpine region in Vic. Good to know. Don't see any snow here in Adelaide and what we do see melts on contact with the ground.
That would have been an awesome Youtube clip of what not to do in a FWD I would have suffocated from laughter :goodjob:

Do they have to be full chains or can they be partial strap-on type?

They fit over the tyre clipped from behind and fixed at the front covering the tread in a diamond or cross shape.
All two wheel drive vehicles must carry them to enter the alpine area, if it snows the alpine authority will require them to be fitted when above the snow line.
For AWD/4WD it is only highly recommended
