If your pretty handy with things you shouldn't have many problems with DIY.

Should be DIY. CP also has black window trim for the G8 and the SS (soon). On the G8 you need extra clips since old ones tend to break. I would assume the SS is the same. Only downside is shipping costs on the oversize stuff.

There's a guy in Irvine,CA who already has these black front trim parts from me, but also has the Holden front grille and front and rear Holden emblems. If he gets around to sending me pics then I'll post them up.

Yes DIY. There's an instruction booklet that comes with the kit.

Great news on the replacement black upper door & gutter trim.
I've been told that GMNA stocks the long curved gutter trim, so buy those 2 long parts locally to save yourself a packet in shipping. Order them from your local GM dealership if the price is anything under $100ea
Black, long gutter strips: 92294362 (right), 92294363 (left).
(These new black gutter strips come with all new clips pre-fitted for install, the only reason you may want some new clips is to refurbish your original chrome strips before storage).

The 4 straight upper door strips in black are not available from GMNA. These are easy & cheap enough to be shipped thru the postal system from Australia. The new straight black trim strips also come pre-fitted with all new clips. I can supply the set of 4 new black upper door strips for Total shipped US$180. Plenty of stock available here in Australia. Shipping will take 10-14 days by Airmail.

I reckon I know which member it is, he posted it up on the Chevy performance SS FB page (I think thats the name of the page, I'm just lazy ). And his name sounds like Maverick Man
