I just did a search in the Michigan area and came up wit 8 Red Hot II sedans out of about 32 all up for the region. You would need to check with dealers whether sold or ready to claim one as your own :) Just do a search by typing in a Zip code for Dearborn Michigan. I used 48120. It should bring up about 31 cars

http://www.chevrolet.com/search-inventory.html just look up SS sedan and put in Zip Code 48120

Not likely, because most may be just by word of mouth or a down payment through a dealer, Chevy wouldn't know the status of the orders.
You think that GM could provide that info due to the fact that if you special order an SS it is to be categorized as " Retail Sold". "Retail Stock" would be for unclaimed vehicles. Unless the dealer took a deposit on one his "Retail Stock" units after the order was placed.

IMO that should be possible, it is in the system after all, if there's record of it, then there should be no reason for them to not have the ability to pull it up.
