When I first bought the car, i emailed my agent and the next day he said it was added to my policy. He mentioned that the ID cards would be updated online in 3 to 4 days. 5 days latter the ID cards still didn't have the SS shown on them. Long story short, after contacting him again, he said that the car pulled up as a grey vehicle and that they would have to send it to underwriting to get this cleared up. I had to explain to them that this was a Chevy, and it was sold here in the US, and that is not imported in as a Holden (even had to send them the link to SS on Chevy's website). In the end it got straightened out, but i'm curious to see if anyone else had issues.

The first few people who took delivery had issues identifying the car as the VIN was not recognized by some insurance company's computer systems. I was surprised that some people on here had rates only slightly above G8gt/gxp numbers. Just lucky being early before it got officially rated!

That being said; since mine is hopefully on the Eastern Highway I emailed a sample vin to my agent a couple weeks ago and my company's system recognized the vin, 4 door sedan, hipo category and even had the value spot on. However apparently since there is no loss/theft history it is being rated high initially so the $$ came in about the same as a CTS-V. If the loss data end up being low like the V; the $$ will of course come down as the value is almost $30K less and the repair parts prices will be the same sky high $$ like all GM crash parts ... just a long wait to get if needed.

No issues other than what the previous post said (vin not in system, took delivery 11/2/13). Rates are $2/month more than my 08 G8 GT. :)

I purchased my new Heron White SS last week in Tempe Az. I have USAA auto insurance and they were great. No issues switching my insurance over from a 2012 Infiniti G37 S I traded. My rate only went up a few dollars.

State Farm was not able to decipher the VIN and had to go on MSRP to establish a rate. I expect it to drop after more cars are insured.
My State Farm agent here in CA. gave me a quote on a sample VIN from a local dealer that has an identical car to my ordered car. No problems and my rates are just slightly above my wifes 2013 Mailbu.

I had some problems with Esurance, but they got it straightened out. Something about having to send the VIN to their new model department since it wouldn't pull up in their system. Priced it the same as a Taurus SHO.
