Anyone getting a hideaway plate system?

The photo below just shows how the OEM front plate mount kills the beautiful front end, IMO, I think a hideaway plate system is a must.

No worries here, Florida is a one plate state ...
It does look less nice with the plate on the front, but even if you have the hide away plate while you are driving you still see the plate. In that sense it seems like kind of a waste of money.

I rather not have holes in my front bumper and even without using the hide away feature it will still make the front end look better.

Just hide the plate when you're off the road

lucky.. SS looks so much better without a front plate
Unfortunately, the idiots in the Texas capital made it a crime to even possess a hideaway plate device and it can cost you a year in jail and a $4000 fine

Front plates are pointless in Texas with the registration sticker on the window. Texas could save millions of dollars a year if they went to only one plate like Oklahoma. There was a loop hole in the law before 9/01/13 where there was no violation for having no front plate, so cops could not write you a ticket because there was no definition of a fine or criminal act. However they freaking fixed that missing code and now there is a max fine of $200. So now cops can stop you just for no front plate and site you for it.

Oh, there argument for front plate is: "I see it as a safety tool that helps eyewitnesses and law enforcement identify the bad guys. Front plates double the chance for a clear ID of, say, a hit-and-run driver, a child molester or a killer."

I guess in that sense it is clear why, but do not make it a mandatory requirement for cars that were never designed for front plates like some states do. I know the people that can afford the fines still run without front plates on cars like a Ferrari. I have yet to see an exotic car with a front plate and I see them often. So Texas should make an exception for no front plate on cars that did not come with one from the factory.

Ok :RantExplode: over.

The holder version had a recessed area for the plate. If I move to a front plate state I would look into it. There is another post/pic about it on the forum.

I never put the front plate bracket on my GTO when I moved to TX from FL 8 years ago and have been pulled over numerous times for other infractions but they never cared about the lack of a front plate. I asked my dealer if they had to install it when mine comes in and he said "technically" I'm going to see if they can technically not do it.
