The closer to the firewall the more likely brake & air con pipes may interfere depending which side they are fitted, also no matter what we have here the prices on the us market will always be better, the walkinshaw kit is 19k fitted with factory warranty, their is no price for supply only, the us market will do much better on price for this much gear

Unless of course your talking things like the body armour to protect the front clip, mirror caps, black fender vents etc. I don't know whether Chevrolet will sell these little extras however purchasing them direct from Australia should not be too difficult. As to cost it will depend on exchange rate and shipping.
I have seen a few things pop up on ebay too. Will have a look later to see what I can dig up on ebay.

Saw the post Commodore made in another thread about accessories, sport stripes would really do the SS well, might consider them...

TBH i have a feeling the aftermarket for SS stateside is not going to be as deep as the Aussie one.

That is where I am going with the question regarding the exhaust. It would be nice if the car arrives in the US with an aftermarket already stocked on some interchangable parts. Then again, I could see some manufactures creating a new part# as well as new "adjusted" price for the SS.

I'm thinking if the SS shows up with an X pipe setup like the Camaro SS and Z06 have had for years you wont need an aftermarket exhaust. You hear what the Z sounds like when you bypass the baffles? Its simple as yanking a fuse...

When is SEMA held? I know Walkinshaw were going to display stuff there I think. Alot of Aftermarket companies that are reputable should already have stuff in the works for the SS. Whiteline should definitely have stuff ready to bolt.

This was the response from Walkinshaw in Oz to a question about VE, VF exhaust compatibility.

Members want to know if the current G8 systems on the US market will fit the SS

"Haven't seen underneath the US version, but i cant see a reason they wouldn't just bolt straight up".

I'm saying IF... There hasn't been much info floating around regarding... Any of you Aussie boys know if SS will have a bi-mode exhaust like the Vettes?
Their is only one member here who could answer your question about a bi-mode exhaust depending on where he works on the production line, Holden do not use the US system on AU cars. All thanks to our gov't carrying handbags at work.

Should not be very long now before US mags dissect an SS in their review
