Just took delivery of my black ss. Love this car. I am lucky to have one of the first ss"s in my area (central florida). Did not come with sunroof but having one installed next week. I am looking for a set of side window vent visors if anyone can help, also any company that has after market accessories for this car. thanks, rstaskoss

See if Weathertech makes them (G8s might fit). No sticky tape required.

Don't have an aftermarket sunroof installed. I went that route with my old gto and regretted it from day 1. Aftermarket sunroofs ALWAYS look aftermarket. I had a webasto that had no issues but looked off.
How are you getting an aftermarket sunroof?! They are going to cut a hole in the top of your car? It just does not seem like a good idea.

Why not get it from the manufacturer? Is there a big price difference?
If it were me I would trade for one with sunroof from factory. I saw a lot of problems with aftermarket sunroofs no bracing like factory unit.

FWIW, on the G8, all cars rolled off the line with fixed roofs. The hole was cut off the line, and a Webasto unit was installed.

Are you sure?

I have worked in a dozen different GM plants (Although never this particular plant) and I have never seen it done like that. I can't imagine how it would pass crash / roll over testing....

Usually the sunroof frame is both spot welded and glued (using high strength structural adhesive) to the roof rails...

That's just what I remember hearing for folks down under when the car was just shipping over seas. Crash support likely is in other areas of the roof.

FMVSS intrusion standards are one of the reasons why the factory installed frames are welded and/or 'glued'.

Only a Holden body engineer can tell you if it will weaken the unibody if you cut out a hunk of the roof. I will bet it will degrade the roof crush and possibly the side impact metrics.
