Has any had issues with their battery after installing the Homelink? I seem to have a voltage draw (large enough for a trickle charger to not work) now. I have replaced the battery thinking it was bad but same issue.
No i don't have a problem my car sits for months at a time and no problems at all. It's connect to the visors electrical the draw is so minimal I think it could something else.

Alright, I skimmed through 100 posts and don't see what I'm looking for...
I had snakey do my visor, but maybe the module was bad, it won't read my garage door opener. Tried on three different openers (since I recently replaced mine) and it doesn't work... wife's srx programs fine on all 3, so I just gave up on this thing.
Until I saw the post in this thread about a new gentex unit done in the overhead console. I bought a gentex unit and will install this afternoon. My question is, what should I use for the constant 12V up there? The courtesy lights are 5V and would trip a code for load, right? So, what do I use for power in the overhead console? Do I just have to route back to the drivers visor?

I've purchased that same model and intend to install it myself in the overhead console. My question was around wiring, what do I use for the constant 12V?
I ended up with a bridge for mine to work with my new garage door opener. Might have been better to get the newer version but this was a cheap and easy fix.
I ended up fishing the wires through the headliner to the visor for power. For switch illumination, the sunroof switch 3rd wire (yellow) provides power. My homelink buttons light up with the rest of the switches... now it doesn't look like such an afterthought.
I have connected mine to a house made in 2012 all the way to my new home in 2020. Connects to all of them just fine. Only thing you need to find out is the way your garage opener needs to be set up to be paired. The Homelink is the same way every time. The garage opener on the other hand has steps that are different Then others. Then causes ppl to no be able to get it to work and blame the Homelink.

I tried like hell to program my homelink visor to my new garage opener chamberlain but no luck. It seems to try and store the code but never activates the door. I have tried resetting the homelink numerous times and saves. I have no issue with my wifes homelink in her car (2022 MDX) and the garage opener. I have been using the handheld remote for now...

We used to run into this at the dealer with OEM openers. GM had some very specific instructions to try to activate this with limited success. I know that your is not OEM, but, the manufacturer of the homelink may have to be contacted or even perhaps the garage door opener manufacturer for help.
This is my new garage opener Model: #B970 Chamberlain. Here is a picture of the homelink in the car, hard to tell what version it is. I am guessing the homelink visor isn't rated for security 2.0? Thus I need the bridge.

Thanks, $30 bridge vs $160 updated homelink visor/installation....I think I will go with the bridge. Only draw back is the bridge doesnt work with battery backup openers (since the bridge doesn't have its own battery) and have to carry the bridge/new garage opener remote around in my glovebox as backup.
