Since last week's arrival and quick departure of the vehicle carrier ship Daedalus Leader and then this week's same thing with the Atlas Leader vehicle carrier and then this Saturday's supposed same turn around with the Athens Highway vehicle carrier and then again on 9/3 with the Wisteria Ace vehicle carrier I think we should expect at least one of these ships to be carrying our Chevy SS's to the states. But I cannot confirm what they are hauling or where their final destination is to be. All four of these ships are designated as "vehicle carriers". Can any of our friends in Elizabeth or Adelaide give us a helping hand?? What other brands of cars would be imported or exported from Adelaide?? I want my SS, bad.

Yes, two were ordered, one for the dealer and one for me!! They did not tell me what their allocation was. But this dealer is heavy in the performance lines like Cad CTS-V, ZL-1 Camaro's and Corvettes. In June alone they had taken orders for 14 new Vette's!!

Cars that I saw at Outer Harbour when I drove past included some Holden Barinas/Sonic, I saw some Captivas and I noticed Hyundai and Kias parked in the yards.
Those are all from Korea. It would be plausible that they would load up with cars then head to somewhere in the Korean waters to fill up with more to take to other markets.
Does the US or Canada get any vehicles from Korea? be they GM or any other brand like Hyundai or Kia?
Will drive past tomorrow, should be good as there are some restored tall ships in Port Adelaide I think, so an excuse to be nosey.

Just did a quick search and Atlas Leader looks to be running late as it is between Melbourne and Adelaide as I type this so should be in early Saturday morning my time.

Daedales Leaders last known position was in the Indian Ocean. waiting for an update as it is out of Range.

At least all this is giving you ship names, so hopefully one of them has the prized cargo on board.

Edit: Athens Highway is about half a day behind Atlas looking at the GPS co-ordinates.

I will take spy pix on the receiving end if they in fact come to Benicia, Ca. I will probably have to take them at some distance because of a lack of proper credentials. I was told by the Port that credentials are difficult to get, but I WILL TRY!! Provided that the Port people give me adequate advance notice, I will try to get right down on the docks, if I can get a clearance!!

I think it might be safe to assume there may no set allocation on the SS with how production is going and with what sales are expected to be like.

Only 2, wow, i expected more to be ordered.

Chevrolet SS pics from Outer Harbour.

Just snapped these pictures about an hour ago of Chevrolet SS and ATLAS LEADER. ATHENS HIGHWAY is due anytime now so one of these may carry some of these.

Various cars were being off loaded when I first got there.

Because of where the ship was berthed in relation to the Chev Sedans I have a gut feeling they will be loaded on to ATHENS HIGHWAY.

They both leave at 06:00 Sunday morning.

Where's that boat going? Do you know? I'm asking because my dealer thinks places like Europe or whatever will get the SS before the US does.

I think that boats next stop is Japan from memory. NA is the first market outside Australia to get this car. Europe isn't getting the SS, but the UK is getting a version of the HSV GTS by years end.

Middle East exports haven't even started yet for there version of the SS (middle east model will be Lumina if it is named like the last SWB sedan), but they are still getting Caprices to my knowledge.

I was gonna head out there today, there's actually a nice little park next to the terminal. Fathers day and all (I'm not a father, but my bro and the little Nephews) But with the tall Ships in Port and the tonnes of people making it fun yesterday I thought i'd try tomorrow or Tuesday.

Dealers in Vegas aren't letting me order one yet I can put a deposit down but I'm going to wait just a little longer. :tempted:
