I hope the numbers are big enough that GM refreshes it and develops it further, but not so that everyone has one. If I wanted a car that everyone else had I would have bought an Imoala.
I think you'd be in pretty exclusive territory with an Imoala. :amazon:

I've always had cars that there were very few of...1988 Mazda 323 GTX(1500 were made '88/'89 for homologation to run SCCA Pro Rally);1988 Mazda 10th Anny RX-7 (1500, all white, including mouldings and wheels);1991 454SS pickup(altough there were over 13,000 1990 models, there were only 983 1991 models...less than 20,000 were made total of all years);2007 STS-V(I don't know how many were made, but I haven't seen one since we got rid of ours 4 years ago);2002 SLP Firehawk(1501 for the 2002 model year, final year for F-bodies, plus 1500 for the previous 10 years - total 3001 for 11 years of production)...so hey, I'm fine with it. They were all great cars anyway and I don't think most people can appreciate that.

Mine were always fairly uncommon as well, although not really great. Had a Citation X-11, a Cavalier Z-24 hatchback (never saw another like it), still have my '94 Impala SS and our Colorado Z71 4X4 with a 5.3 V8, have only seen two others with a V8.
Always Chevy

SS Sales

I appears as though the number of units delivered is right on track with what the expectations were. I just hope the automotive press doesn't start doing what they did with the GTO by saying it is a sales flop if they only deliver 3000 units this model year.

I read an article over the weekend about how Subaru only sells 3000 units of the WRX STI, and I don't hear anyone calling that a sales flop. Special interest vehicles are meant to be just what the name implies....special!

In the short time I've had my SS, I already know it will be one of my all time favorites.

With less than 300 per month and the Impala at 14,000. Where would you invest your add money. Besides the profit on a domestic car (Impala) is much higher than a SS built in Australia. Holden said it cost $3400 more to build down under than import. The margin on the SS is very low if they make any money at all. The US$ to the AU$ is killing the production of cars in AU.
