In 2017, there was a spy shot of a Buick Regal Grand National GNX. It makes you kind of wonder what could or should have been for the SS. But, it should have been built.

Mary Barra, specifically.Sorry, badged as a Buick just isn't doing it for me. I have a Buick in the garage as a daily, but I never grooved on the GNX. Some of the other badged-up T-types from the late 80s were kinda ok, but I preferred the halo models from Olds and Pontiac over the Buicks. Just a personal preference thing.
Besides, it wouldn't matter. GM would have somehow screwed it up anyway and soon afterwards killed the replacement parts support for this, just as they have done/are doing for their current/recent halo cars like the SS. The general has really pissed me off.
I remember when the GN came out. I was working as a service manager at a Mazda dealer and I was just entering my final year in the SCCA Pro racing circuit, running an '86 RX7. Our dealer also had a Buick franchise. The general manager from there came and got me and said,"you gotta drive this car!" And I said, "what, ...a Buick?!"... He said, "I know, ...right!?... Just wait, ...you'll love it!"Sorry, badged as a Buick just isn't doing it for me. I have a Buick in the garage as a daily, but I never grooved on the GNX. Hello, beautiful. That picture is 100% a photoshop made by someone on the internet. There was never a buick version on the table. Any RWD Buick in 2017 would be on the alpha chassis and look like the Buick Avista concept that came out in 2016.

And unlike the photoshop beginning the thread, the Buick Avista was a real car (albeit a concept). It was brought through the car show circuit in red and blue.Hello, beautiful.
The recent Buick concepts are the Buicks that we deserve! In my opinion. And unlike the photoshop beginning the thread, the Buick Avista was a real car (albeit a concept). It was brought through the car show circuit in red and blue.

With one exception: I hate the latest "wildcat" concept. That just isn't a buick. It's a global design abortion with a heritage name and nothing else. The new design language derived from it has destroyed the buick brand. The recent Buick concepts are the Buicks that we deserve! In my opinion.
You're absolutely right, and I thought to edit that into my original post earlier today, but then I got busy. The Wildcat is hideous! With one exception: I hate the latest "wildcat" concept.
