I remember seeing that front view foto from back in time (2017?) with some accompanying, few words in automobile media, hoping for an actual, new Buick GNX. Accompanying that foto of the front, there was a 2nd foto of that prototype turning, leaning into a curve on some test track. That foto clearly captured the rear, mfgr's license plate, ''BAKNBLK'. Wish that had come true!

I had a '87 GN.

Sorry, badged as a Buick just isn't doing it for me. I have a Buick in the garage as a daily, but I never grooved on the GNX. Some of the other badged-up T-types from the late 80s were kinda ok, but I preferred the halo models from Olds and Pontiac over the Buicks. Just a personal preference thing.

Besides, it wouldn't matter. GM would have somehow screwed it up anyway and soon afterwards killed the replacement parts support for this, just as they have done/are doing for their current/recent halo cars like the SS. The general has really pissed me off.

I remember when the GN came out. I was working as a service manager at a Mazda dealer and I was just entering my final year in the SCCA Pro racing circuit, running an '86 RX7. Our dealer also had a Buick franchise. The general manager from there came and got me and said,"you gotta drive this car!" And I said, "what, ...a Buick?!"... He said, "I know, ...right!?... Just wait, ...you'll love it!"

So, yeah, it's acceleration was impressive, for one of those things, but boy,... that sucka couldn't stop worth a darn!...nor turn a corner fitting a performance vehicle. At the time I was driving, as a daily, a '66 GTO clone, set up for autocrossing, so, I knew that GM could have done better and so, I was never really a fan of this car.

That picture is 100% a photoshop made by someone on the internet. There was never a buick version on the table. Any RWD Buick in 2017 would be on the alpha chassis and look like the Buick Avista concept that came out in 2016.

Thank goodness the GNX pictured in post 1 was a photoshop, that thing looks horrendous in my opinion. I would be so disappointed if they had actually come out with that too. And is it just me or does the Avista concept look like a tesla from the doors back(on the side profile that is)?

The recent Buick concepts are the Buicks that we deserve! In my opinion.
With one exception: I hate the latest "wildcat" concept. That just isn't a buick. It's a global design abortion with a heritage name and nothing else. The new design language derived from it has destroyed the buick brand.

You're absolutely right, and I thought to edit that into my original post earlier today, but then I got busy. The Wildcat is hideous!
