All,

Well, the ole Hot Rod - 2016 Chevy SS Sedan LS3 6.2 LTR finally got the Magnuson Heartbeat installed last week and it's CARB Approved for those in CALIF! Yes CARB approved. It's quiet, the car drives very nice and when WOT is required you hear the SC whine then the car comes to life. Awesome power I must say when needed! Tires are defin going to be my next issue now! LOL.

Should there be any interest in the Heartbeat kit, please contact Cindy Hernandez via email as she will provide you all the info of the kit and the approved installer(s) in your area! Email: [email protected]

Mine is finally finished. It's at PCM for a day of road work to finalize the tune.
I am shocked at the power gains. I will have dyno sheets over the weekend and some install pictures but it ended at 642RWHP at 7 1/2psi.

Is $10k installed a good guestimate for something like this? Just curious for now... still happy with the measly 415 hp. :D
To do it right, with injectors, and bap, wires, plugs,160 stat, map sensor, dyno, and install, youre looking at around 12k. If you add headers add another 1400.

I was quoted 10 k for the tvs 2300 installed with tune and map sensor.

If you don't mind me asking, what took so long on the install ?

I heard they were having some issues getting the cai to work, and trying a dififferent snout.

Kelly had said it would be finished weeks ago.

I sent them some pics of one with the roto fab.

You can PM me if you like.

Doing it right wouldn't include a boost a pump, but a actual fuel system

Any dyno #'s? Assuming you are running the same 91 octane California swill that I have access to. How does the tune handle it? I know the Whipple CARB legal tune is said to run like crap, just curious how the Heartbeat tune seems. If I ever go supercharged I'm going CARB legal, and it's nice to have another good option.
Magnuson performs their own tune.Honestly the car drives great. The tune appears great! Shift firmness could use some massaging but other than that a great running car. Dyno averaged 512-515 on three different runs. Stock numbers were amazing higher than though being 375-378. Not bad I thought.

Agreed, Not bad for a blower only setup.

Interested in what IAT's your seeing at WOT with the dual HX inside the reverse routed lid they run now vs the traditional setup they tvs series normally run.

What pulley is that on the 1:1 drive setup?

Where did you get the Magnuson Heartbeat installed? I am presently talking to Joe at LeftCoast32 in North San Diego County, which is a 2-hour drive. I'm only an hour away from Magnuson in Ventura and would prefer something closer.

TJ, PCM decided to build there own CAI . They got a CTSV snout from Magnuson which is straight and built a tube. We got held up cause the powdercoater sat on the thing and we got caught in the Holiday schedule. When it finally came in we were between Christmas and New Year and Kelly and Alvin took their vacation so I needed to wait for them to return. Alvin spent 2days fine tuning the setup with a bunch of street miles to finalize the setup. That's what I really like about them. It does not leave their place till it is spot on. That is what makes them my #1 choice for all my Mods. The really work hard on making all their cars very driveable. Can't thank them enough and trust them completely.

Bought my car with the intention of adding at least a super charger. At $12K, I may need to rethink the kids education.
Not sure how my wife will respond to this but I have a pretty good idea.:amazon:

I've had three different Magnuson TVS2300's. A jackshaft, a front drive, and a Heartbeat. They all run about the same +12 to 15 over ambient at cruise. The difference is that the Heartbeat IAT's go up less under boost (about 15 to 20 degrees) and recovery is quick. I had logs of three back to back to back Mustang dyno runs. At 10psi and 630 hp, the last run was about 10 degrees hotter than the first one. These three runs were done in less than 2 minutes. That's pretty dam spiffy in my book.

My front drive truck TVS has two heat exchangers and an 11gpm coolant pump. That's about 2.5X the stock Maggie pump. The second heat exchanger is a full sized radiator with e fans mounted in the bed. To say the blower's intercooler is fed cool coolant all the time is an understatement. It does run about 9 degrees over ambient at cruise, but goes up higher under boost vs the Heartbeat (at the same boost level). Recovery is good too, but with all of that cooling capacity, it dam well should be.

2hr drive will be worth it, maggnuson is a good company but you are probably going to want other supporting mods done also or down the road. I have thought about driving there from texas to have him and garth build me a setup quite a few times, and we have no shortage of shops in houston.

Good to hear on heartbeat temps, only reason i didnt go with is that i would be stuck on 1:1 drive with pulleys. So i have a JS2300 with overdrive cog setup in back along with a billet snout. This setup had done close to 20psi on a 390 if i want to go there eventually. Right now its e85 fuel support and custom hd tensioner that leftcoast32 is helping with so we can run a dedicated drive or 8-10 rib setup with our SSs.

I too had the Magnuson Heartbeat installed by McMillan's Speed And Fab in Oxnard, CA a couple of weeks ago. My car was run on Magnuson's in house dyno before (356HP at the wheels) and after the installation (540HP at the wheels). The car is stock otherwise and is being run on wonderful California 91 octane. The car runs perfect and just like stock. You would not know it has a anything done to it, until you hit the gas. Kevin McMillan was a long time engineering employee of Magnuson before hanging his own shingle. His installation looks fantastic and the workmanship is first class. I would recommend both McMillan Speed And Fab as well as Magnuson without hesitation! The only addition that I did have Kevin put in is a Moroso Oil Separator to keep things clean and tidy in the engine compartment. Street mileage went down 1 MPG, but highway mileage went up 8 MPG! This is the way that Chevrolet should have built the car to begin with. Finally the car has the power that the chassis can handle with ease. Make the call!
