I don't want it, or the LT1.
Maybe make it look a little more aggressive if anything but leave the drivetrain alone, other than maybe a manual option.

Are you saying that you just heard that 2015 Vette will get the 8 speed?
Where have you been? We have been discussing how much we would like that and the LS4 in an SS since I got on this forum back in Nov.

You are just a little late...

Will it be the ZF or the same Aisin of the CTS V-Sport?
Even if it is the ZF, one would be attached to the LT1, the other to a TTV6. The number of LS3s with 8-speed ATs remains the same: zero.

New tranny from GM same size as 6 speed weighs less I believe also.
This is info off the Corvette forum Chief Engineer Tadge is source.

Makes sense, but I thought GM would skip the 8-speed because of the rumored 10-speed co-developed with Ford.

That's just too much shifting for a performance application with a V8 that has a wide powerband. Leave the 8 and 10 speeds to economy cars to keep the revs down and turbo cars to keep the boost up, not to mention mountain bikes lol.

8L90 was just announced for the 2015 Vette. Not sure they'll have it figured out for the SS though as it's still only been seen in rear applications so far.

I'm fine with the 6 speed honestly.

And as far as LT1 is concerned; NOPE. I've had my fair share of direct injection tuning with the Mazdaspeed3 and I don't think most realize how much DI sucks for aftermarket tuning. I'll take the LS3 and easy power.

The 2015 was already confirmed with the LS3 and no other changes as far as powertrain goes. The only thing not conformed are the colors.

Not to mention caked intake valves. Makes a lot of torque though.

Really? Interesting if so. Where did you get this?
It was on this forum. There was a Link to the 2015 GM lineup with all models and their optional powerplants. The LS3 is confirmed for '15 and there's no way an 8speed is going behind it.
