What are the chances of the states using the new 2014 Chevy SS as a police or highway patrol vehicle? And what do you think about it?

They already have the option of the Caprice. No point in the SS doing police duty.

What would be great is if the Caprice was sold to the public. That would definitely be a mid to high 20 grand V8 powered sedan. Performance bargain right there.

I could have stole one of those Holden police cars the other day.
I thought about it.
But, they are too large and heavy for my taste.
Easy to add power, but too expensive to remove weight or shrink. LoL

In Australia, The Commodore SS (not the luxury SS-V) is the staple pursuit car.

Our police forces work differently to the US.

Firstly, all police are state police. The Victorian Police force is one of the single biggest police forces in the world. Therefore they have bigger budgets and buying power. They also work with both Holden and Ford for the best optons.

Secondly, all Australian state police forces turn their vehicles over after either two or three years. To maximise their return on investment, they frequently buy sports versions as they have the best resale. An ex-cop Commodore SS or Falcon XR6 turbo is a highly desirable vehicle.
