Since the only ones seeing my tailights are the cars I just smoked, I don't really care. :D

But seriously, I don't really care about that crap.
Gimme a strong drivertrain in a light chassis and I am happy.
Either with a low pricetag, or with some world class features.
Yeah thats what we all want. But as far as exterior goes, this is what I want as well as others.

It's a good and bad thing the SS isn't as pretty as other sedans, good cause it's a sign of a lower price.

OEM or Aftermarket, LED tails will be on my list, who knows, I might make my own.

LED tails would be nice. Bright, reliable, and have a clean sharp look. GM has always been a step behind most manufacturers with upgraded exterior lighting/electronics. HID fronts are a nice option, LED tails should also be in the mix.

if you've got the cash to replace the rear bumper also, HSV's taillights should do the job lol.

definitely not the cheapest option
Aren't the Gen-F LED tails designed to directly replace the the VF housings. Or is the rear bumper more different than the media have been printing in some of the drivel they concoct?

LED tail lights are one of those things I prefer to have especially on a premium vehicle such as the Chevrolet SS. Unfortunately we didn't get them on the 2014 model, maybe in the future?

How many of you would want LED tail lights for your Chevrolet SS?

I would of thought that they will be coming out as LED tail lights, well that sucks. for the price you got to be kidding me, really? Is there an option at least for a better housing?

i'm liking some of the designs available aftermarket for the Cruze, hopefully with the car being available in multiple markets things like this become available faster

Are you serious the Cruze which is a lower line has better tail lights than the Chevy SS. I hope this is just some misread info we are getting here. I think we deserve better tail lights.

Those appear to be aftermarket lights. I don't like them though. I don't want my Cruze to look like a BMW or Benz knock off.

I agree with the above, I'll take the HSV taillights on the SS. They actually sort of match the Traverse's rear lights, so why not?

I'm looking forward to buying some Holden-specific parts for my SS. The HSV 325kw LS3 engine cover looks attractive...

I have always been a fan of the led taillights; they are quicker, brighter, and almost last forever. I was a bit disappointed to see the regular taillight bulbs as well, but guess I can get over it.
In the post that shows the Holden production line video, near the end, I noticed what looks like little "eyebrow" running lights over the headlights, I think those look cool though! ;>) You can also see them about 1:35 into the video.

Well, I assume there is a way it just involves the whole rear fascia. I suspected as much, just had a faint hope they might overlap the same opening rather than actually be different. Bummer, the lights are one thing, shipping the entire fascia a whole different nightmare haha.

Thanks.

One of the "features" of the more expensive HSV range in Australia is LED tail lights. The regular Holden Commodore range which the Chev SS is based on, doesn't get them. The HSV ones won't fit without a change of of the rear bumper.

The best chance of anything LED based is if some third party manufacturer takes an interest.

The cars are delivered to HSV With dummy front and rear bars, wheels etc so here is a shot of mine when it first arrived with a standard Holden rear bar, not sure which one.

Then the HSV rear bar goes on with the LED tail lights (and sexy green wheels!)

Similar but different, the cutout in the boot is the same as is the rear guard but the scoop in the rear bar is bigger.

Does indeed look like only the fascia would be different, but still I bet shipping alone on such a big body piece would be 4 digits. :(

Nice ride. :)

All..I researched this very idea early 2014 and actually spoke to HSV Engineers..They stated our 2014 USA Chevy SS version doesn't have the correct wiring harness for the LED tail lights to work nor the rear bumper/fenders obviously..Big bucks to have the HSV bumpers/fenders shipped to USA from AU..Also even if you wanted to spend the monies for the bumper/fenders, the LED style HSV tail lights would not work due to the wiring harness loop of our USA 2014 Chevy SS version very different from specific HSV wiring harness..Great idea though!:(
