Just posting this for those interested in seeing info on the 2014 Caprice PPV, since for some of you, this may be a car you will be buying used as they hit the used car market....

I emailed a regional rep yesterday asking if the 2014 Caprice Detective version would still have the floor console and shifter. Here's was the answer.

For 14 we will have a column shift and will be able to add all the 9c3 options on our 9c1 caprice

It looks like the new Caprice's here will only have the the column shifter, and the new equipment mountable console.

I always liked column shifters on police cars. Haven't driven the caprice PPV as yet but I did drive a few Crown Victoria Police Interceptors and it does help make it easy to shift, less effort. Plus it allows more space for a laptop and other equipment.
