I just completed a review video for Thinkcar ThinkDiag OBD-II Bluetooth scan tool. It has bi-directional capabilities which allows you to run actuation tests and special functions supported by the ThinkDiag device and the vehicle.

I've been testing the ThinkDiag scan tool on my 2014 Chevy Caprice PPV which is a Global A based vehicle just like the Chevy SS Sedan.

I've tested
  • Changing the HVAC Control Module's Afterblow setting - With that setting enabled, the interior fan will be run to help dry up any condensation that may be present after driving the car and using the A/C.
  • Executing the Body Control Module's special function "Brake Pedal Position Sensor Learn" which has been necessary to perform after I updated my Caprice's BCM configuration (using ACDelco TDS system) to back out some of the police mode settings.
  • Testing the radiator cooling fans by using the ECM's actuation test for the cooling fans.
The software is subscription based which is a bit of a downside, but the overall cost for the device is relatively low ($120 USD) which gets you one vehicle manufacturer diagnostic module for one year and it's $39.95 per year if you want to continue to use it.

I thought I'd post my review link here if you're looking for a low cost scan tool that gets you quite a bit more functionality than most other scan tools in its price range.

Lol figures. I just picked up a solus edge that’s been reconditioned and fully updated. Good video none the less.
