I posted the projected build numbers for the Chevy SS from the GM "M" or manufacturing schedule earlier in the year and here are the latest numbers for the balance of 2013 and for 2014 from last week. Looks like they have come down a bit...probably to keep the price at MSRP. 6,200 cars in 17 months is all that this shows.

Hopefully those figures could go up. I notice that by that the UK will get 2 VXR8's (supercharged HSV GTS) per month.
With our new Federal Government asking Holden to increase exports by an extra 12 to 15 thousand units a year in exchange for Co-Investment over the next decade it may mean it will be easier to get a hold of one Chevrolet SS. That'd be the hope anyway.

All Chevy SS are bound for NA only at this point. The 900 hundred figure may be for the 2013 calendar year. Other markets will come online next year and no plans for Europe in the short term except for the HSV export program into the UK. Which is outside of Holdens export plans Walkinshaw is acting as the export/importer as I understand.

GM lowered the numbers because the car is NOT going to sell.

To say they lowered production to help their dealers make more profit by selling at MSRP is laughable. GM sells them to dealer at dealer invoice, regardless of how much the dealer sells it to you for.

This car is dead on arrival
It's a shame, because all GM hS to do to sell the car is offer the TR7070 at no charge and lower the entry price, even if they have to delete content.

At what point do they change over to 2015 models in the USA they would be selling 2015 by Sept. 2014.

IF you look at Pontiac G8 production the cut off time was February 2008 they started producing 2009 models so shoretely after January 2014 they will start 2015 model year. They should be hear in June. All i hope is at the end of 2014 they will be giving these cars below invoice.

6 200 cars in 17 months seems reasonable, i just hope that they actually get these cars sold. it seems like they're off to a good start. Never seen any marketing on the SS and i think that's killing it and not helping to get them sold.

That's the only way they are gonna sell.
It might come to a point they have too many of them stocked up that deals can happen for us

Or, the only way the financially strapped can afford one.
then maybe buying a brand new car may not be the best idea, unless you have a budget the SS can break into if priced lower.

Total production thru Dec. 2014 is a little over 6000 units divide by 50 equals 120 per state. Yeah that's a whole lot of cars. They produced 29000 z06's that's 580 per state that's from 2006 to 2013 model year.

Give GM just an ounce of credit when it comes to marketing vehicles (I'm not talking design, pricing, or content here, just marketing); if they thought for a minute they couldn't sell 6000 cars without significant incentives they wouldn't build them. Since I can't walk into the dealership today and buy one I have to buy something else. Sold my M6 GXP, for a profit mind you three weeks ago, and need a car to keep me mobile until this time next year when the M6/Mag ride 2015 comes out. So hopefully soon I'll have either a 335 or SHO in my driveway neither of which is a great choice in my mind. BMW very nice but rather pricey for what you are getting. SHO is way overpriced but Ford recognizes that and I can snatch nearly $11,000 off the MSRP. If there was an SS at my dealer I'd buy it today (I'd even buy a white one which is my all time least favorite color). That tells me there are likely 6000 other like minded individuals who will buy one...

you should have kept your gxp for another year
That would have meant driving through a Michigan winter and that wasn't going to happen. It was my 3rd one and just too **** nice to make it suffer the salt and nonsense they throw at the roads here... I can deal with a Ford product for a year or so; their products are a lot better than what they have been the last 10-15 years...
