14 daily driver reliability approaching 100k

So I am approaching 100k on the dash quicker than I wanted but here we are. I drive it daily to work and where it sits outside in the lovely southwest Florida sun, so I know it’s gonna have to be painted eventually. My plan for the car is to gradually modify it, but putting reliability first for long term ownership.

the AC blows cold, but sometimes takes a while to really get cold and makes a noise pretty consistently.
Spark plugs were changed about 5,000 miles ago and also had the 6l80 flushed as well as the rear end.
Another reality is the 10 year old suspension needs to be updated.

this is the first car I’ve ever modified or put any money into. I am not a mechanic and will realistically not be performing the labor side of this. I’m 10 minutes from Bradenton motorsports park so the main abuse it would take is the drag strip where my current best is a 13.30.
Any insight or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

The day after I made my last payment on my 14 (original owner), a lifter went out at 111k miles. I am pretty sure it is because one of the factory valve springs went soft, the valve train lost control and the lifter lofted over the cam lobe and came crashing down. So long story short, I would recommend pro-actively refreshing your valve springs if you are going to be racing or the engine is going to see any RPMs. Mine popped after I bounced off a rev limiter whilst taunting a Corvette. Guess he had the last laugh. I have heard others say to replace them at 100k miles.

Thank you very much!! Also these cars just look better black 😉
Or at the very least, swap in some PAC-1218 or 1219. I did that early on for some peace of mind.

My 100k service started at 90k due to some 45k intervals

@90k -
Spark plugs, wires, coolant flush, trans and diff drain / fill

@100k -
Engine and cabin filter, brake pad replacement and bleed
Lubricant applied to pivots and bushings checked

Pending -
Caged trunions, A/C performance test, valve train check, I may go and replace the springs now too. Lol
Clean all weather seals and lubricate

Around the same time my lifters and pushrod got bent going off an on ramp but the SS is probably the most reliable car I've owned outside of my wifes gx 470.

Ironically my wife is itching for a Gx. With the new redesign the current gen should devalue some so that’ll help us out a lot. I’ve attached two images of what I ordered last night to avoid these issues.
