Special ordered new 1989 from Rank & Son Buick , Milwaukee , Wisc by my late father. I convinced my father to order the Skylark with the fairly rare 3.3 V6 engine, 3spd auto trans and the optional F-3 Sport Suspension package. A fairly quick combination for its day weighing in at 2600lbs. When my father passed in 2001 , I was given the Skylark by my mother. I drove the Skylark during the summer months only from 2001 to 2012. I blew the engine in August of 2012. The car sat for a year as I considered my options and went through a divorce.

After blowing the stock 3.3 V6 in 2012 , I discovered that the 3.3 V6 had no performance options available if I did a rebuild. I discovered that the 3.8 or 3800 V6 had the same exterior dimensions as the 3.3 V6 and there would be no weight penalty in putting the more powerful 3800 in the Skylark. So I set out to find a supercharged 3.8 V6 & 4spd trans for the Skylark. I located an complete L-67 3.8 supercharged engine , 4spd trans, engine harness and ecm salvaged from a 1996 Pontiac SSEI. Jan 2014 An engine cradle was fabbed and in fall 2014 I a complete one off Supercharged V6 89 Buick Skylark using almost all GM factory parts.
