I didn't get the "Flowtie" name until I saw the third picture.

I think this looks great. I also think it would really help an OTR intake on our cars based on some research I did re my Orssom. This mod might help with 'ram' air effect.

Just wondering, Would you take a new chrome grill in partial trade ?

Looks good a lot better than the gold bow tie IMO. SS has a lot more frontal air intake area than the Camaro Z28 the flowtie was used on. It might have a very small benefit in high load racing conditions. I haven't done the aero, but the SS's cooling at high speed is more likely limited by the air getting out the bottom of the car at the back of the engine bay. Once the engine bay is crammed full on high pressure air, make more vent area on the front doesn't help. Have to give the air somewhere to go. Notice the fake vents on the fenders. When those are real they are to give the air somewhere to go out of the engine bay. The 2016 has vents on the back of the hood for this, but likely too small to be of much benefit. Need something big and positioned correctly, like the hood vent on a Z28.

If you look at this OTR intake, the idea is that you cut the under-hood seal and present the front of the intake as an under- hood scoop. Guys on the G8 and commodore forums cut holes in the dust guard and feed 'ram air' into the front of the intake.

I think the flow tie would compliment this effect. Thoughts ?

I am not sure if the flow tie would greatly enhance this. In theory there is more open area, but I doubt whether it could be measured or felt.
