January 2017 SS Sales Numbers

Amazed at the low number of sales in January. I'm one of 'em though and love my '17 manual in phantom black...

No surprise, apart from a car that's not on every car shopper's list, for the ones that know what the car is will know to wait for GM to drop there pants with the 20 percent BS as they usually do.

Well, to be fair most of the 16s went after the 20% deals in the summer and fall, and the '17s barely started showing up in January so not much inventory to sell. Add to that it's not a care given to strong winter month sales...

All new SS will be sold out by December. They'll sell like 700 by June then discount the rest to 10-20% off and will sell 1,000 in the two months following that news, then the remaining 500 or so will go during the fall into winter months.

I just checked and Autotrader.com shows 449 new 2017 cars available nationwide as of today. I agree that buyers are waiting on the 20% off or at least some attractive incentives before buying. I happen to fall into that category myself. Cash in the money market account awaiting the time!

I have a very nice 2016 in SLIHRM that I have added lots of $$$ in eye-candy to but REALLY like the OBM... not enought to give my 16 and 10-12k for though so I am waiting to hear about 20% off as well... Like many others. I would guess that once it is on tag sale... it will be a race to get one esp in OBM or NGM and anything in M6. So once anyone here finds that tags are on please let us know AFTER you buy yours of course!

Way back when a time long ago I was getting 18% on my money market account. Am I holding on waiting for that to be back in the year 2017 ???

I agree 1EK69, but GM can let them sit and decompose on their dealer lots I guess, just as my local dealer has been doing since 2015. They've still got a brand new 2015 sitting under their canopy that's been there close to 2 years that they refuse to discount. Didn't even allow the 20% off on that unit. That said, who wants a black 2015 for what a new 2017 would cost? I don't think the average SS buyer is really buying these cars just as a means of transportation, so they are more likely to wait till the best deal comes along.
