A look at 5 parts that could be making your car or truck thirsty

Millions of drivers waste fuel needlessly every day, without even realizing it. Whether by carrying around extra weight or running a vehicle that’s in need of maintenance, bad fuel mileage often creeps up slowly – swilling away your hard-earned money, and contributing to excessive emissions. If you don’t monitor your vehicle’s fuel consumption regularly, increased fuel consumption can be even harder to detect.

Is your ride running at maximum efficiency, or is it wasting your money and polluting needlessly? If you’re not sure, here’s a look at four parts that can be easily replaced and one that should be removed when not in use, as a starting point, to help ensure your car, SUV or pickup isn’t drinking more than its fair share of fuel.

More so than what is listed, if you really want to increase your mpg replace your 6.2L for a 2.0L. But really if you're worried about MPG you bought the wrong car.

Anybody else find this ironic to be on an AMG? The latest (I think?) AMG is the CLA45 with a 375HP (you guessed it) 2.0l 4-pot. Wonder how long it's going to be before even AMG only offers 2 liter engines?

Thank goodness for the LS3!

It's not even a good point.
1.They have proven that a restricted air filter has no effect on a modern fuel injected vehicle.
2.Gas mileage tires have relatively low grip and are very fragile to damage, who needs that on an SS? But keep them properly inflated
3.Use Top Tier gas for your fuel injectors(even I use a gas treatment every now and then, though).
4.Spark plugs and stuff are a no brainier, plus the SES will come on in case of a misfire.
5.I forgot the other one

Weird how many people say MPG is not important coz V8 and burning fuel is HP and stuff, yet mention e85 coz V8 and more power and better stuff... conversation inevitably turns to "Ew what terrible MPG!"
