Ordered an MGW shifter. (Update: It fits!)

I read whispers and wishes from people wondering if it will fit our vehicles. Nobody has actually tried from what I've read. I don't see why not, seeing as we share the same TR6060 (albeit with minor differences) as the Camaro and G8 GXP.

Should be going in on Wednesday. Stay tuned.

I would love to hear that it fits, MGW told me that it doesn't. Keep us updated!

Same story I heard >> email from George @MGW:

we have verified that it is NOT the same shifter. I do not know if we will make a shifter for the SS at this point but i certainly have not ruled it out.

George

I definitely want one though! Just sold my Camaro with MGW and by far the best shifter I've put in a car.

Yea, I know I'm going out on a limb here. I don't see what the big deal is. They went to all the trouble to find out the stock shifter is different in our cars and threw their hands up and quit. Probably only went as far as looking up the part number.

It's also been proven that they fit the G8 GXPs just fine but MGW doesn't even bother advertising that fact.

I like the initiative. If you could please take the time to take photos and do an install write up when you test it Im sure the forum would be grateful.

The MGW is the best shifter on the market, bar none. Good customer service and product updates

I can confirm that. A lady called before my unit shipped out to confirm I had a shift knob with 3/8-16 threads.

Got a TWM Abrams to go on top. I like the old school look of the white or black knobs some of the Mustang guys run. Unfortunately most composite/plastic knobs end up buzzing in my experience.

As for a write-up I only plan on highlighting the differences between my experience and the .5hr install vid that MGW already has up on YouTube.

My shifter actually showed up today. I have to say if it doesn't fit I might just keep it as an art piece. It's beautiful just by itself. The craftsmanship is nothing short of amazing.
