I stole the wiring info below from another post and added the 12v accessory wire color/pin #.

Here's what I did--your results may vary!

1: RCA cables ran in parallel with the signal lines / fading and balance still work, except now backwards (see next post)
2: Center channel still connected to stock amp / works fine.
3. Center speaker needs to be connected for phone calls
4: Using a dated JL 500/5 amp; 250 watts for subs, 200 front speakers
5: Stock amp is powering rear speakers.
6: All wiring completed in the trunk. I did run a bass control to the front of the car.

All warning bells and whistles still work fine and are coming from the rear door speakers.

Sound is 200% better, and will improve even more when I swap out the door speakers and subs.

Here you go:

Speaker.....Amplifier Connector / Pin.....Wiring Color at Speaker
Front Center Speaker Negative.......X2/3.....BU/YE*

Obnoxious Turn Signal Noise Work-Around:

One issue I had initially when adding an amp was it amplified the turn signals and alerts waaaay too much. The work-around that's working for me is this:

Wired the rear speakers to the front output of the stock amp. This way all the alerts come from the back. I needed to keep the front center channel connected to hear phone calls. The fader is backwards, but that's no big deal for Moi.

I tapped the rear low-line in to the stock amp and ran it to a separate amp (JL 500/5), which I'm using it power the front doors speakers and the subs. I'm using the JL amp's internal crossover to process the signal. The system sounds 200% better. New front speakers and a new sub woofers are coming next.

Thanks for your thread

1) Do you know where this wiring info came from? I'm curious is there is more info to be had, such as if the turn/alert signal can be isolated (so it can then be re-routed). Im also wondering if there are other parts of the wiring harness that we should study.

2) Do you know is there is a connector that can be added to new wires to tap into the connectors from the head unit and also the connectors to the amp. Even if such was temporary, it would allow one to do lots of re-configuring/testing before making permanent connections and without cutting wires.

3) Do you know of any service manuals or more detailed info about the Bose components we have?

Thanks!

Hi ccclapp,

I copied the wiring info off of another thread and added the 12V turn-on wire. I don't know of an aftermarket connector--that would have been nice!

I don't think you can isolate the turn signal and alerts. I need to add a DSP to my system--the gains on my amp do not go low enough to keep the signal/alert noises to a tolerable level. Hence the switching the front and rear inputs.

so all these listed in this quote are on the x3 plug correct including the remote turn on wire? Fixing to pull mine apart tomorrow for my sub install :)

yes x3 connector is line-level from the head unit. just what you want.

Thank you guys so much for your help! Took a Rockford KISL and wired it up to the X3, then took a remote wire to Pin 8 on the X3. Ran the Rockford 4GA power and ground cable to my 500/1 Rockford Amp which is powering my new JL high output ported 10" that fits flawlessly in the trunk even better than the p300-10
