Well it was working fine, now for the last month when I select a different channel it will go and play that music but the screen does not go what's channel is selected, stays stuck on the menu page. If I hit "back" it goes to a page that just says "loading" while still playing the new channel. Funny thing is our 2014 Malibu does the same thing. I've tried uninstalling the Pandora app and reinstalling to no help. Anyone have a Pandora issue? Also it was doing this before the new android 7.0 update.
Same problem on my 2015. I was using Pandora all the time until this problem reared it head. It has been broken for me for about a month. Most likely something Pandora broke with the latest update.
My current backup plan is to use Bluetooth to stream via the phone. You can skip songs but that's about it.
I did a complete reset of the radio and re-paired the phone with no luck. My bet is Pandora broke something.
I had the same problem while trying Pandora for the first time in the car last week. Also at times the song wouldn't load correctly and would sound choppy.
Sooner or later, all the built in apps in the mylink will be worthless as GM is not going to update them to remain compatible with then current versions/standards. Hopefully bluetooth streaming isn't lost, but if it is at least there is an AUX jack for the 14/15 cars.
Here's an odd related (maybe) note. I bought a new lg g6 phone last week. Nice piece, but it didn't like my car. Bluetooth worked fine on phone calls, but streaming music, whether it was Pandora or downloaded tunes, was choppy broken crap. Worked fine in my wife's 2016 Malibu. Her Samsung Galaxy S7 works fine in the SS. Talked to the cellphone carrier and they suggested that the car needed a software update. Another person in the store politely interjected, asked what phone and went on to tell me that the same thing happened in her 2015 300c. She also heard about the update and went to the dealership and tried it, to no avail. I asked her if she got a new phone, and she said "no, I just got a new car". Oy.

I have this issue with my iPhone 6. I just don't stream music via BT, I use a USB drive or direct connect the phone via USB. Unlikely GM will put much effort into updates for the SS infotainment system.
And that's why things like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are the future. As long as there's an interface to let users bring their own content, then the system will last much longer before becoming obsolete.
As for choppy Pandora and streaming, I ran into an issue last year shorty after bringing the car home and trying out features. I had this to say about it in a post here....
******** I have an 2016 SS and an HTC One M7.
I paired the phone, downloaded contacts and texts, and was able to use the MyLink Pandora app successfully for several days. Then a couple days ago the Pandora stream via Bluetooth became choppy. Didn't matter if I was using the Pandora app or the Bluetooth streaming app on MyLink. I think the problem may have started after the first time I used MyLink to call home. Cycling the phone or radio on/off did nothing to help.
Today I deleted the phone from MyLink, then paired it again. This time I did not allow access to contacts and texts when prompted by MyLink. I read on the interwebs that this might help. Pandora worked fine after that...until I made a phone call via MyLink using the number pad. After that it was choppy again. However this time, simply cycling both the car radio off and the Bluetooth on my phone off, then both back on, corrected the problem at least for now.
***** Actually I haven't messed with it since. Haven't even tried making a call through mylink to see if it makes Pandora act funny again. Hmm come to think of it I haven't used Pandora probably in over a month in the car since I have content on USB now.
My Pandora has been freezing when trying to change channels for a few months now. Really annoying. This is why I hate all these proprietary user interfaces in cars. They all become obsolete in just a few years.
Mine has been on the fritz too. I stream to and from work each day, sometime i hit the Pandora icon on my link, and it says it playing, song is counting but I hear no audio. that my latest issue. Restarting my phone seems to fix the issue. I have a feeling the issue is with the Pandora app.
I tried everything. Listened via Bluetooth vs Pandora mylink app, unpaired and re-paired the phone to the car, uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the phone a few times, even unplugged the battery on the car for a few minutes just for sh*ts and giggles. Downloaded tunes where the same, so it was a phone issue for me. I considered just using my auxiliary jack(2015) but this ain't 2006 so I didn't want to take a step back from the already slightly behind SS tech. I missed the two year old Nexus 6 that I had, so I took back the phone, thought about the Samsung Galaxy S8 but decided to pull the trigger on a new in box Nexus 6 on flea bay for a couple hundred bucks.
All good now, I keep turning it down to hear the sweet sounds of the LS3 anyway...
I have a full house of Nexus products including a Nexus 6 phone (Motorola, not Huawei Nexus 6P) that I love. I am posting this on my daughter's hand me down Nexus 7(2013) since she has a newer Nexus 9 for the last 2 years. When I said the Pandora app sucks, I was referring to the one installed in the factory head unit (radio).
I used Pandora in my '14 for and hour or so today. No problems except commercials, which suck. I tried the Epic channel and was loving it. My phone batt was low so I plugged it in for the first half hour. Straight Blue tooth for the second half hour.
Figured I should chime in on this. I have an HTC 10 on Nougat w/ latest pandora app. Pandora seems to work fine unless i change pandora channels. It will play that channel but then lose all control capabilities moving forward. No thumbs or skips. Information is no longer displayed. Only way to get it back it to manually close the pandora app on the phone and reconnect. This is a very repeatable process.
I even went through the effort to flash Marshmallow. Same issue, but also had bluetooth skipping issues.
Yet another reason i will be taking on a stereo upgrade.
Pandora changes the app on our phones all the time but the support on Mylink doesn't update with Pandora. It was bound to stop being fully compatible anyways. I guess I will just have to go back to the AUX chord because Bluetooth is just as choppy as the actual app itself.
I had the same problems Pandora on my old 15 and with the 17.
I saw a post that mentioned this so I take no credit, but I removed my USB stick and. for the time being, Pandora is working perfectly changing channels, skipping songs, connecting, everything is working as it should.
It is worth a try if you are having issues with Pandora. We''ll see if it lasts.
I had been using the Pandora app through MyLink frequently with my Galaxy Note 5. However I recently got a Galaxy S9+ and now the app icon on the screen stays gray (inactive) all the time. I can still bluetooth stream but its choppy sometimes. I loved the MyLink app because youre not using the bluetooth signal to transfer audio, only data. This makes for better sound quality.
Anyone know if this is an Android issue or a My Link issue?...or a Pandora issue?
I was having the same issue, it started working again this week.
Try going to settings in your Pandora app then advanced uncheck launch from car then recheck it.
Might work?
Sputnik...er...MyLink is having fits with my Moto Z2 as well lately. The Pandora button is permanently grayed out for me, so bluetooth only. The choppy stuttering is always a result of the USB stick indexing, or contacts syncing for a while before that clears up. But the latest issue is that it'll play a song, and the time left on the song displays on MyLink, but the track info is always a song behind, not the current song that's playing. Bizarre. You'd hope that a car that only went out of production a year ago would have some sort of commitment from whoever was contracted to have the app on MyLink to have it supported for a period of time. The SS is a production blip, but there's a much wider audience of GM vehicles out there with MyLink beyond our SS.
