Black wheels really changes the look of the Red Hot 2! First time using plastidip, should be interesting to see how long it holds up.

Looks good Armin. Now you need some lion badges to make it a real VFII.

Plastidip is pretty durable, however, I have never used it on wheels. On my G8, my front grill was plastidipped and it held on pretty well. After 5 years, there were signs of peeling - keeping in mind that the grill always takes on a head win. Wheels don't get direct head winds, so this may have some lasting ability - just don't scrape any curbs or you'll likely be peeling it off and re-spraying. Many have done this, so hopefully someone who has will chime in.

Did you remove the wheels to apply?

Thanks for the insight. I kept the wheels on and masked the brakes, rotors, lug nuts, and valve stems. Looks fine from a distance but up close and as a first timer I missed a few spots and found some uneven spots. I'm going to apply another one or two coats and rotate the wheels in between to make it more even. Overall I do like the look!

I took my wheels off so I could get the inside drum of the wheels

I took a different approach to the side markers, versus the completely blacked out side markers, which is basically every SS I've seen. I also dipped side mirrors black, and dipped the door handles

I also took a different route with the DRL/fog bezel, and I dipped the chrome trim also

Nice! Did you just mask off around the chrome or remove them?

I'm seeing very few Red Hot SS sedans in my area. Let's keep this thread alive!
